Small fibroid

I'm new to this site and I would want to know more about fibroids. I would like to learn everything about fibroids on a firsthand basis, and i feel that this site would definitely help a lot. To start with, is this hereditary? Thanks

I have just been told after a ultrascan that i have a small fibroid (4mm) , i keep getting a painful lower back , needing to go to the toilet all the time , pelvic pressure , heavy rushing periods and sometimes 2 periods a month , servere pain that i had to go to A&E 3 times , these times i got a rash and burning hands and feet . swollen tummy (gone up a size ).

Can this small fibroid cause all these symptoms ?? or can it be anything else ?? they are doing more test at the moment.
