Fibroids
I am 42 years old. I had been having excessive bleeding and major cramps for about a year and a half. Whenever I would complain to my OBGYN, she would try and place the cause on something else.
Suggesting it may be because of my diabetes or stress. My periods were so excessive I would have to wear a tampon and a pad. I would still have to change every hour or close to it. I also had severe fatique which interfered with my daily chores and my job. One day at work I started my period and it was extremely heavy. I had to leave and go directly to my physician. As luck had it my regular doctor wasn't available so I saw another doctor instead. He immediately ordered a uterine ultrasound and sure enough I had an enlarged uterus which indicates fibroids. I was put on medication and am hoping it will help. It hasn't been long since I started the medication. But my point is to not let doctors think you are silly because you feel something isn't right. If they persistently make excuses and you feel strongly about your symptoms, insist on an ultrasound for your peace of mind if nothing else.
