couple desires baby after myomectomy
I am 38 yrs old who recently married 16 months ago. Exactly one month ago I had a myomectomy. 2 baseball size fibroids and a bean size fibroid removed. Since my 30's I have had VERY difficult HEAVY PERIODS, back problems, anemic, severe pain before & after my cycle, very tired all the time and many days running home to shower and return back to work and also sick days in bed. My quality of life was so depressing. My wardrobe was reduced to jogging pants.
One doctor suggested for us to have a baby ASAP before my fibroids got too large in addition with my age my time was running out and then get a full hysterectomy after delivery.
We did try but did not conceive.
We went to another doctor and he stated to go ahead and try to conceive but we did not have success. My doctor suggested that I have a myomectomy but the chances of having a hysterectomy was very high for my situation. I am very happy to say the myomectomy was a sucess. This is my 4th week of recovery and I am doing great. The walking and using the bathroom was a big big task but I have gotten my strengh back and I have more energy now than before my surgery. My checkup went well and he stated I can return to work (secretarial) without lifting anything heavy. Also he stated we can try to conceive after waiting 3 months from now.
We are so excited and hope to have a baby soon.
This myomectomy surgery is worth it. I look forward to wearing pretty things once again and maybe even having a baby.
If anyone has had baby after a myomectomy please email me. I would love to read your experience. Also there is relief out here with the right doctors assistance.
