Hysterectomy
I am 43 years old and have uterine fibroids as well as HPV, the virus that causes cervical cancer. I have been scheduled to have a hysterectomy in May, removing my uterus and cervix, thus not having to worry about getting cervical cancer in the future, leaving my ovaries in tact. My concern is that even though the doctors told me that by leaving my ovaries in tact, I will not have any problems sexually. I still worry. My surgery in on an out patient basis and everyone tells me that I should be hospitalized for at least 3 days, this I have found to be true while searching information on the internet. Anyone out there had a hysterectomy surgery on an outpatient basis please let me know...
