It is Balloon!

I have several large fibroid tumors that have caused excessive bleeding, clotting and pain. A few days after my regular period in February, I bled for 3 weeks in March until I had to be admitted into the hospital for a blood transfusion (2 units) and an emergency D&C. The bleeding stopped for a couple of days and then returned. I was taken off my usual oral contraceptive and put on a stronger one - first 4 a day then 2 a day until the bleeding stopped and then one a day until my period came again (I have it now). I had discussed several options with different doctors and decided on endometrial ablation using the ThermaChoice Uterine Balloon Therapy System. This is an outpatient procedure which destroys the lining of the uterus by the use of heat. This will result in lighter periods or no bleeding at all. The fibroids will remain, but I am told that once I go into menopause they will eventually calcify and dissapear. I am scheduled for the ablation next Saturday, May 12. I've read many of the postings here but didn't notice any regarding this procedure. Has anyone had this done and if so, was it successful in aleviating the excessive mestrual bleeding caused by fibroids?
