UFE
About a year ago, my "original" dr. diagnosed me as having a "golfball size" fibroid, said I was not a candidate for a UFE "because of the location of the fibroid" (on my endometrium) and suggested a hysterectomy. (I am 36 yo.) Although I did not experience pain because of the fibroid, I bled often and excessively - eventually becoming anemic - all the while being a Type II diabetic. I tried multiple types of birth control pills, as well as a shot of depo provera which did stop the bleeding, but I gained 15 lbs. I was miserable! Eventually, I sought a second opinon. I'm glad I did! I found out that my fibroid was only "marble size" and that I was a candiate for the UFE. The procedure was recently performed and I have not experienced any complications whatsover! Seek that second opinion!
